I hate to have to do this, but enough is enough already. Everyday the SL Tribune and Deseret News come out with polls and opinion articles of people who oppose the stadium and most often with misrepresented ideas.
As ReAL fans most of us were fairly pro-active with our letters and opinions while the stadium issue was up in the air, but have sat back and enjoyed 'our victory' since the stadium deal went through. I believe that it is important that we now strive to increase public support of the stadium deal by once again making our voices heard. It is a rarity to see public opinions supporting the stadium in Utah's local reader's forums. Let's let SLC and the rest of Utah know that there is a large contingent supporting the stadium.
Write the Deseret News at: letters@desnews.com
Write the Salt Lake Tribune at: letters@sltrib.com
Write to the Daily Herald at this link here.
These should be intelligent and well thought out messages to the community that Utah got it right. The negative is definitely making more waves than the positive right now which sways the opinion of the casual bystander.
Let Brad Swedlund and the anti-stadium petition organization know why what they are doing is wrong for the community at: brad_swedlund@yahoo.com
You can call in to local radio stations or television sports shows to voice your opinion.
We can also let the Sandy City Council know that we are happy with the stadium deal or write to other local leaders. Sandy City Website. Other Local Gov.
I understand that this whole issue has become exhausting and we just want to yell and scream at a sporting event. I have learned more in the past two years about sports politics and how that works with government than I every would want to know, but unfortunately that is how it is going to be with ReAL.
I am going to write just one letter and copy and paste that letter to as many groups, media organizations, or government officials as I can find. It shouldn't take too long and I believe that it can do us good.
It is time to fight back
