Yahoo first reported it and then RSL Communications has it as news confirmed by the RSLFO that 6'3" Scottish target forward Kenny Deuchar has signed a deal with Real Salt Lake and will be joining the team in Argentina over the next two weeks.
What makes this guy interesting is that he is a doctor AND he wants to practice medicine here in the states. Isn't professional soccer player a full time gig? One comment on RSL's BigSoccer forum did mention that with the recent signing of Dema "red card" Kovalenko that he may have many opportunities to do both at the same time.
His nickname is Dr. Goal. This whole dual-role thing is weird to me...I don't really care what players do off the pitch, as long as they give 100% on it.
Looking at his profile and stats it is easy to see that the man has been very succesful in his soccer endevours as well, but of concern is that his past clubs have been primarily lower division squads. Though he did recently score two goals against the Scottish team Rangers.
Here is the guy's Wiki.
And a highlight on YouTube....and another.
We now have "Dr. Goal", Indra "The God of War", Yura, and Findley fighting for two spots up top. May the best men win...and I mean that...we need some goals.
"Can we get a doctor in here?"
