Change is in the air...

...or so it would seem for just about any team that isn't based out of Salt Lake City. Despite a new look RSL, and even a better playing RSL, the opener finished with the exact some punch line (the joke isn't funny either).

So is a jackass painted like a zebra still just a burro? Well, this match against the goats could be proving grounds for the boys in gold, blue, and red that this is really a new RSL team. The game against Chicago was heavily disappointing, but after Chicago turned around and blanked the Revs 4-0 our draw doesn't look so bad. Now a segment of our history that is even more grim than our season openers has been our road games in LA against Chivas. In 2005 we were beat by the goats 5-1 the second game there (lost 1-0 the first), in 2006 in April we saw a 3-0 lose followed by a draw at 0, in 2007 our April game was a 4-0 blowout against our '05 expansion rivals (we lost the second game there 1-0 that season). So in 6 attempts we are 0-5-1 against Chivas in LA with a 13 to 1 goal differential.

So despite a painful last second tie against the Club America North Blancos I argue that a good showing...even a tie...would be a good sign for this club. If we get blown out it will hard to be depressed by the similarities '08 is having with our embarrassing past. Please RSL...step up, I'm begging you.
